Come and see H2Rover at our booth on Saturday, February 22nd from 9am to noon.
In its entire history, the San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas had never -- NO NEVER -- EVER -- allowed a dog into the garden.
Then came that fateful morning. On Saturday, February 23, 2013, as the sun began to appear, so did the dogs and their families. And they just kept coming and coming and coming! Almost 400 of them!
The first ever "5K Paw Walk in the Garden" was such a huge success that your Rancho Coastal Humane Society and the San Diego Botanic Garden will join paws once again on Saturday morning, February 22, 2014 for the second annual 5K Paw Walk in the Garden.
Your Rancho Coastal Humane Society and the San Diego Botanic Garden are inviting you -- with our without your pooch -- to be there when dogs are allowed to walk through the Garden for only the second time in history.
Proceeds from the event benefit your Rancho Coastal Humane Society and the San Diego Botanic Garden.
Sam Beukema, Education and Events Manager for the Garden, points out that it's not just about the plants. It's about people, too. "Our mission is to inspire people of all ages to connect with plants and nature. We hope that allowing families to walk their dogs through the Garden for the 5K will remind them what a valuable resource they have and also encourage them to bring friends who have never visited the Garden before."
"Last year the 5K Paw Walk in the Garden went great," says RCHS Community Liaison Nick Winfrey. "This year it will be even better. We're expecting RCHS supporters, SDBG supporters, and people who have never been involved with either organization. There will be dog products, treats for people and dogs, great information for dog lovers, and (of course) dogs!"
